Anya May's work is centred around her experiences and struggles that come with living with disabilities and chronic pain, from childhood until now. May has had backhanded comments about her health problems from doctors, friends, family and even strangers. Everyday comes with its own challenges that many dismiss ad she's "too young" or "looks fine" May wants to push back against the stigma surrounding these experiences and health issues in general.
May invites the viewer to remember that their experiences and emotions are valid and that they deserve to be listened too.
